“One is never too old to learn”

  – Pying-Huan Wang,
    COE & Partner,

Tell us about yourself, your company, and your role.

My education was rooted in Switzerland, where I earned a law degree from the University of Geneva and received a Swiss education, while growing up with Swiss-Asian values.

My life has been evenly split between Switzerland and Asia, giving me a deep appreciation for both cultures and their distinct approaches to business and finance. Fluent in French, English, German, and Mandarin, I believe that effective communication is key to fostering trust and building strong client relationships.

Swiss-Asia Financial Services Pte Ltd (SAFS) specializes in Wealth Management and Fund Management. We partner with independent Wealth and Fund Managers who seek the freedom to serve their clients without external constraints while benefiting from a robust infrastructure that mirrors the support available in private banks. Our services include facilitating bank account openings, KYC, AML compliance, and operational support, ensuring a seamless experience for our partners and their clients.

Returning to Swiss-Asia after 15 years feels like a homecoming. My goal is to elevate Swiss-Asia into a holistic investment strategies platform, encompassing liquid and illiquid assets, including private equity. Additionally, I am committed to positioning Swiss-Asia as a forward-thinking player in ESG investment strategies.

As CEO, my role is to drive growth by attracting wealth and fund managers who share our vision. I am also passionate about fostering diversity—encouraging more women to enter and thrive in our industry—and promoting environmental consciousness within our organization and beyond.

What is wealth management to you?

Wealth Management is the strategic handling of assets with the objectives to Grow, Preserve, and Transfer wealth across generations—what I like to call “Wealth GPT.”

At Swiss-Asia, we empower Wealth Managers by providing the tools and operational support they need to invest their clients’ assets according to their risk appetite, objectives, and time horizon. At the same time, we assist Fund Managers in setting up their funds and allow them to focus on investment activities, while ensuring a strong operational framework and third-party oversight for investors.

Beyond financial assets, I believe wealth extends to natural resources and human talent. True wealth is about sustainability—nurturing and managing all valuable resources wisely to benefit future generations.

Three key lessons from the past three years (career & personal):

  1. Step Outside Your Comfort Zone – Growth happens when we embrace new challenges. Life is like a puzzle; every experience adds a piece to the bigger picture. A Chinese proverb sums it up well: “One is never too old to learn”. Continuous learning and adaptability are essential to success.

  2. The Meaning of Regeneration – Traditionally, regeneration means restoring something that has been damaged. However, in Europe, and particularly in the renewable sector where I worked, regeneration has taken on a broader meaning: business as a living system, where every part nourishes another in a circular and self-sustaining way. This principle applies to finance as well—by considering all stakeholders, encouraging diversity, and optimizing resources, we create a more resilient and future-proof system.

  3. Sustainability is a Collective Responsibility – Every action we take, no matter how small, contributes to a larger impact. Whether it’s conserving water, extending product lifecycles through repair, or reducing our carbon footprint by choosing local products, we all play a role in shaping a more sustainable world for future generations.
