We’re thrilled to inform that the first instalment of our bi-annual AIWM Professional Excellence education workshop is happening on Thursday, 23 May 2024!
Now in its sixth year, the AIWM Professional Excellence gathers the AIWM community – External Asset Managers (EAMs), Family Offices, private banks, service providers amongst others, to discuss how best to drive growth and leverage the opportunities amid the dynamic independent wealth management (IWM) sector.
Supported by CSOP Asset Management, the full-day event will open with a panel discussion on private credit in Singapore vis-a-vis Australia and North America case study, followed by presentations from industry experts within the IWM sector as they delve into the strategies, alternative investments, technology and methodologies as well as providing insights on the application and impact of the introduction of Section 10L on gains from disposal of foreign assets.
Join us on May 23 for an insightful session as we drive collective action to shape a more robust and inclusive IWM community, and elevating the industry standards together.

Kelly Low
Kelly Low
Kelly is a Director at MA Financial Group; she brings more than 10 years of experience working in asset management and wealth management.
Prior to joining MA Financial Group, Kelly was an Account Manager at Wellington Management covering both institutional and intermediary clients across Southeast-Asia. Prior to that, she held positions at Vanguard Investments, Alto Partners, and Credit Suisse.
Kelly holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Economics degree from Nanyang Technological University.

Andrew Parker is the Senior Trade & Investment Commissioner, ASEAN at Investment NSW. He leads the ASEAN team to deliver on the NSW Government’s priorities to attract international investment and assist NSW businesses to find new export markets. Prior to joining Investment NSW, Andrew was a Partner in the Deals business at PwC where he also led the Asia Practice of PwC Australia.
RJ Joshua
RJ Joshua
RJ Joshua has 15 years’ experience covering alternative investments and part of Preqin’s Research insights team based in London. He has been responsible for sourcing, seeding and negotiating investments in alternative funds as well as hires, restructuring and acquisitions. His background including fund selection and due diligence for a range of insurance companies and asset managers such as Phoenix, abrdn and Allianz Global Investors. RJ is a CFA charterholder and a Physics graduate from the University of Oxford.
Ashvin Murthy
Ashvin Murthy
Ashvin Murthy is the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of AVM Capital. He launched the AVM Global Opportunity Fund in 2016, a macro investment strategy with an established track record of delivering attractive risk adjusted returns.
Ashvin began his career in finance in the Fixed Income division at UBS. He was involved in trading complex derivatives across the Fixed Income spectrum, a journey that involved working in 4 different teams across Singapore, London and Zurich. He then moved to Hong Kong to lead the FX Options Team at Natixis. This breadth of experience in financial markets enabled Ashvin to develop a proprietary strategy that delivers robust and steady returns through different economic regimes.
Ashvin was awarded a scholarship by the Singapore Public Service Commission to study Engineering in France. He graduated with a Diplome d’Ingenieur (Master of Science in Engineering) from Ecole Centrale Paris and received the Bourse d’Excellence Eiffel from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in France. Ashvin then went on to obtain a Master of Science in Financial Engineering from Columbia University in 2003.
Leon Lee

Leon Lee, CFA, is Head of Business Development at AVM Capital.
He brings to the team more 25 years of experience in the asset management and private wealth management industries.
Leon started his career in the Asset Management Industry working closely with Sovereign Wealth Funds, Pension Funds and Insurance Companies. He then spent more than 15 years in private banking as a senior relationship manager and team leader, serving family offices and UHNW Individuals.
He was Managing Director at Bank of Singapore and subsequently, Citi Private Bank. Having worked closely with clients through various financial market conditions, Leon is a firm believer in the importance of delivering superior risk adjusted returns within portfolios. Leon graduated from University of Western Australia with majors in Accounting and Finance.

Antonia Li holds the position of Head of Strategy at EasyView, overseeing the team responsible for conducting technology research and establishing industry partnerships to shape the technology and private wealth management ecosystem. Her primary focus lies in spearheading technological innovation within EAM & Family Offices.
Before joining EasyView, Antonia served as a Portfolio Manager at PwC New Ventures, specializing in researching emerging technologies (including AI, blockchain, IoT) and their application within the financial services sector across the Asia Pacific region. Prior to that, she held the role of Research & Operations Lead at HYPE, a Hong Kong-based Venture Capital & Builder firm, where she facilitated the market expansion of technology ventures into Asia and managed fundraising initiatives. Additionally, she has worked as a research analyst at financial institutions such as Bloomberg and Oddup, a Fintech company based in Hong Kong.
Antonia holds both a Master’s degree and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Hong Kong and the University of California – San Diego, respectively.
Amanda Xiang

Amanda previously worked at Forbes Media in New York, and was the founding member of Forbes Digital Assets, Forbes Global Alliance, Forbes Shopping and other licensing businesses. Before joining Aspen Digital, she also managed real estate and tech private equity portfolio at a SFO. Amanda graduated with her MBA from Northwestern Kellogg School of Management, and holds 2 Bachelor degrees from Northwestern University. She is also a SFC Type 4 and 9 license holder.
Sean Whipkey
Sean Whipkey
Sean is a long time investor and enthusiast in the blockchain space. He has lived in Hong Kong for the past 12 years, previously working in institutional hedge fund coverage roles. Sean was Vice President of Equity Finance and Delta1 sales trading at Deutsche Bank, and prior to that at Credit Suisse and Barclays. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Economics from Villanova University.
Roger Chi

Roger Chi is a Partner of 1291 Group Asia and oversees the development of the Singapore office. Roger has extensive experience working with family offices across Asia and the Middle East advising on cross border investments, succession planning, taxation, family governance, and private equity. Prior to 1291, Roger was a partner at Candareen Capital where he led their family Office advisory activities and was appointed a senior advisor to Sheikh Syed al Maktoun. Roger started his career as a venture capitalist at Brainrush Ventures – a San Francisco Bay Area venture capital firm, before joining a Monitor Company and a leading strategic consulting firm. Roger holds a MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science (BS) from the UC Berkeley.

Mr. Zhang Dinghai (Bruce) is the Head of Fixed Income at CSOP Asset Management and is responsible for the portfolio management of bonds, REITs and money market investment strategies.
Before that, Bruce worked at State Street Global Advisors and held several roles including product engineer, portfolio specialist and portfolio manager. He was responsible for managing billions of fixed income portfolios across multiple sectors. Other responsibilities include bespoke analysis for the client facing teams and quantitative support for the local product group.
Bruce holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Hong Kong and a Bachelor of Arts from Peking University. He is a CFA Charter holder and is a member of CFA Institute and the Hong Kong Society of Financial Analysts.
Jeremy Dominh
Jeremy Dominh
Jeremy Dominh is an Investment Solutions Sales at Leonteq Securities. He has been working in the Structured Products field for more than 10 years, covering Institutional and Distribution clients across Europe, the Middle-East and South-East Asia. Prior to his role at Leonteq Securities, he worked as a Structurer at Natixis and Societe Generale and as a Sales at Credit Suisse and Citigroup. Solutions oriented, his knowledge spans from Cross-Asset Structured Products, to Quantitative Investment Solutions, as well as Actively Managed Certificates.
Jeremy has a Masters of Science, Finance, from EDHEC Business School.

As a Regional Director in Dimensional’s Global Client Group, Sam Gillespie, CFP® is responsible for supporting independent wealth management professionals in Singapore and Hong Kong to better understand capital markets, financial research and its application to investment solutions. With Dimensional he has held a multitude of roles serving wealth managers across the United States and Asia, relocating to Dimensional’s Asia Headquarters in Singapore in 2019. In his role as Regional Director, he has helped wealth management firms refine their investment proposition, build out their client communication frameworks, and helped them position themselves for robust growth in an ever-changing intermediary market. Sam received a bachelors in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin, and holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification.

Benjamin (“Ben”) Dunn is the Head of Quantitative Strategies (QS) and joined Eastspring Investments in 2014. He oversees all of the research, development and investment activities within the Quantitative Strategies team including our active Multi Factor and Low Volatility strategies, Smart Beta strategies and customized Beta solutions.
Prior to joining our Firm, Ben had been a Quantitative Equity Portfolio Manager at Ankura Capital (a BNY Mellon subsidiary) for over 10 years managing both Australian and Japanese portfolios. He previously held various roles spanning quantitative research, equity trading and software engineering at Queensland Investment Corporation (QIC) and Queensland Treasury Corporation (QTC). Ben has 27 years of industry experience.
Ben holds a Bachelors degree in Information Technology from Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in Australia. He is also a CFA charterholder.
Michael Sun

Michael (Xiaochen) Sun is a Director – Quant Capability in our Quantitative Strategies (QS) team. He joined Eastspring Investments in April 2023.
Prior to joining Eastspring Investments, Michael was a Senior Vice President at Unigestion where he was a portfolio manager for the EM low vol strategy and a client portfolio manager representing the firm’s risk managed equity strategies. Prior to this, he served as an advocate for multi-factor equity strategies and drove the growth of the active systematic business at HSBC Global Asset Management. Michael’s in-depth expertise in factor investing and portfolio management analytics was refined during his tenure as Vice President at MSCI Barra. He commenced his career as a quantitative research analyst at a FinTech firm in the UK in 2005, where he established his skills in equity risk modelling and portfolio optimisation. Michael has 19 years of industry experience.
Michael holds a PhD in Mathematical Science from Brunel University London, UK and a MSc In Mathematical Finance from the University of Hull, UK.
Pearlyn Chew

Pearlyn specialises in providing Singapore income tax and international income tax advice including structuring and transaction-based advice tax advisory in the private wealth / asset and fund management space as well as in the real estate sectors. She has over 14 years of experience in this industry.
Pearlyn also has experienced working in the tax financial advisory sector with global asset managers during an 18-month secondment to New York, United states.
Attendance Policy
Participants who wish to obtain the Certificate of Attendance (COA) for 6hrs of CPD must comply strictly with the Attendance Policy set out by AIWM Singapore. For this activity, participants are reminded to sign in on arrival and sign out at the conclusion of the event in the manner required by the organiser. Participants will be accorded the hours corresponding to his/her attendance of the event. Participants who do not comply with the Attendance Policy will not be able to obtain the COA for this event.
