Dear AIWM members and friends,

November marks the beginning of the Northeast Monsoon season in Singapore, bringing cooler temperatures and frequent rain, a stark shift from the dry spells earlier in the year. This shift perfectly represents the year-end transition, both practically and symbolically, as it’s almost time to look back at 2024, while planning for 2025 is now in full swing.

It’s going to be an important month in our industry, with the long-awaited US Election (still not happened at the time of this writing, hence I will leave the predictions to the brave souls of X/Twitter) and the 9th edition of the Singapore Fintech Festival, a major event on the global stage and now a highlight in Singapore’s financial industry calendar.

Zooming into AIWM matters, we have finalized our event schedule for the rest of 2024, and are already looking forward to 2025, which will mark the launch of some important new projects including the establishment of a certification program for our members, as announced in the August newsletter (I won’t spoil too much yet). These additions are designed to build on existing offering as we continuously strive to enhance the value we provide, in line with the purpose of strengthen the independent wealth management ecosystem.

A busier calendar requires extra resources, so I would like to take this chance to remind all our members to come forward if interested in sponsoring the Association or supporting any future event (and make my life as a Treasurer way easier). Feel free to reach out to the Committee during our events, or via email to sponsoring@aiwm.sg. Likewise, feedback and ideas for future initiatives are welcomed at committee@aiwm.sg. The Association is driven by its members, and we are here to listen and collaborate!

Last, but not least, a quick reminder of our upcoming events before some hopefully well-deserved year end break and festivities indulgence.

15th November: Executive Sparks event is back with a panel discussion on AI and its innovations, an exciting theme more relevant than ever. I strongly encourage all C levels to sign up.

28th November: Annual Year End Dinner – There is only a way to celebrate the year about to finish; with a celebration in style! The invitation is out, make your RSVP and secure your spot!

4th December: Q4 Regulatory & Compliance will close up our 2024 event calendar.

I look forward to meeting all of you and thank you for the continuous support.

Sincerely,

Matteo Devecchi
AIWM Treasurer
