A word from the Committee

It was a real pleasure to engage many of you at our AIWM Chinese New Year Dinner just a month ago. With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, the Committee is reminded that we love what we do because of the community of like-minded professionals in the Association.
We are especially encouraged when 8 member firms chose to support the inaugural AIWM bursary initiative for 8 freshmen students from the Singapore Management University (SMU).
As part of the initiative, each student will receive a total of $20,000 over 4 years of their undergraduate education at SMU. The bursaries are being co-funded by the Association and each of its participating members.
The participating member firms are as follows:
- – Abacus Asia Wealth Management Pte Ltd
- – AL Wealth Partners Pte Ltd
- – Azimut Investment Management Singapore Ltd
- – Covenant Capital Pte Ltd
- – Global Precious Metals Pte Ltd
- – HP Wealth Management (S) Pte Ltd
- – Marcuard Heritage (Singapore) Pte Ltd
- – Red Beacon Asset Management Pte Ltd
As stewards of assets, we are deeply encouraged and hope that this will be the start of a wave of multi-family offices partnering with their clients to support students in financial need.
This SMU busary initiative marks the first step in the association’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy, in giving back to the community. The Philanthropy sub-committee (supported by Bernard Ong of Azimut Investment Management Singapore Ltd and Cynthia See of Marcuard Heritage (Singapore) Pte Ltd) is also progressively finalizing other initiatives to support philanthropic giving in the community. If any of the firms are interested in this CSR effort and would like to collaborate with us in generating more support for families and/or individuals in need, do reach out to any of us in the Committee.
To start the year on a high note, AIWM Singapore will be launching a new engagement platform, reserved only for our members who are C-level leaders, to come together, engage in conversations that spur disruptive discussions, push boundaries and think out-of-the box. The AIWM Executive Sparks is designed to curate content around future trends to spark dialogue on the challenges of tomorrow to Redefine, Reimagine and Reinvent tomorrow.
The first of the series “Future of Food” will be held on 10th Feb in collaboration with EHL Hospitality Business School (EHL), as a breakfast session. We look forward to an exciting dialogue during the panel discussion, represented by thought leaders in farm entertainment, waste management and meat alternatives.
The AIWM will also be hosting the bi-annual Education Workshops in May and October, where Associate Members will be sharing their insights on various topics with us. Please contact support-sg@aiwm.sg if your firm would like to participate as one of the speakers.
The AIWM is grateful for all the support and active participation by both Associate and Ordinary members over the years. On behalf of the Committee, here’s wishing everyone a Valentine’s Day filled with love, peace and joy!
Sincerely,
Edwin Lee, AIWM Education
